EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — There will be an Earth Day event on Saturday to celebrate Earth Day 2023.
The El Paso County Parks & Recreation Department is hosting the event.
This is the 53rd anniversary of Earth Day.
The event is free to the public and will be held from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Ascarate Park located at 6900 Delta.
Eco El Paso will be donating 25 trees to Ascarate Park that will be planted during the event as part of the non-profits’ grant-funded project to plant 500 trees across the county.
The event will also include informational booths of a wide array of businesses, non-profits, artists, and food vendors.
There will also be various s recycling activities, such as an Earth Day Scavenger hunt, arts and crafts, a screening of “The Lorax,” and much more at the Ascarate Park Pavilion.
Visitors are encouraged to bring a blanket and chairs to enjoy the park.
Food trucks will be available to the public from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Earth Day is a celebration of the earth and our environment. It is a historical event that takes place every year to bring awareness to the environmental issues our planet faces and to promote solutions for a sustainable future.
